Before Industrial Design

Before beginning my education as a designer in Eindhoven, I spent my years moving and living in different parts of Europe. I spent time in the Netherlands, Switzerland, France and Germany before coming back to the Netherlands. I have been curious about design and interested in the act of creating things for as long as I can remember. Initially, I found architecture an extremely interesting topic but I lost interest in it as a profession after following along with a family friend who is an architect for a day. My interest in industrial design came mostly from my time in Germany, as I followed a course my school offered called "Design Technology". In this course I learned about one form of the design cycle - going through it on one major project. Aside from that, I predominantly practiced making skills: woodworking, foam or card modelling, 3D modelling and printing.

Back garden deck

This was a deck that I designed and built manually from the ground up with a challenging incline to work with. It was a project that involved precise designing and intense manual labour. There was also left over wood that was used to make accompanying plant pots. (The parasol was not built by me)
